OTTAWA – The Canadian Folk Music Awards (CFMA), now in it’s 10th year, are pleased to announce the hiring of Andy Frank as Project Director, effective immediately. The co-founder of Canadian website Roots Music Canada (rootsmusic.ca) is a longtime champion of the folk music scene in Canada and, until now, was tireless member of the CFMA board for many years.
Along with rootsmusic.ca, Mr. Frank has been integrally involved in the folk community as a radio producer and host at CIUT as well as a film producer for Folk Music Ontario and numerous live concert films including James Hill, Laura Smith, Michael Jerome Browne among other Canadian artists.
Prior to his contributions in folk music , his career excelled and developed in executive positions in the hospitality business as well as small business ownership in Montreal, Calgary and Ottawa.
“I am honoured to be involved with the Canadian Folk Music Awards and its deeply committed volunteer board in this new capacity. I look forward to a great 10th Anniversary celebration in Ottawa this November, and to evolving the Awards as we go forward” says Andy Frank.
For this year’s CFMA anniversary celebrations, Mr. Frank will also produce a 10th anniversary film, celebrating the depth and breadth of folk music across the country.Born and raised in Montreal, Mr. Frank now lives in Toronto with his wife Helen and schnauzer, Tobi.
