The 2022 Canadian Folk Music Awards will be held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, as they were supposed to be in 2020 and then in 2021. For the past two years, we were forced to deftly pivot to a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that third time’s a charm and that we will actually get to have the CFMAs live and in person in one of the most historic, graceful (and safe!) cities in Canada.
The Awards Show Evening Galas will be held at Delta Hotels Prince Edward Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2, featuring presentation of the awards as well as live showcase performances by an exciting and diverse selection of this year’s nominees. In partnership with Music PEI, planning is underway to round out the program with other events to be announced as well as an Export Buyers Program. These will include daytime entertainment, showcases and may include something to kick the weekend off early on the evening of Thursday, March 31.
